What we treat.

Six ways in, one method underneath. Every program below is built on orofacial myofunctional therapy, the retraining of how the mouth rests, breathes, and swallows.

Every plan begins with a 60-minute evaluation covering rest posture, breathing, chewing, swallowing, speech, and feeding. Baseline photos and measurements, and a written report within a week.

The program

A clear sequence, start to finish.

1
Clinician taking notes during an evaluation

Evaluate

Every plan starts with a 60-minute evaluation and a written report. You will know what is happening, and why, before therapy begins.

2
Woman practicing during a telehealth video session

Retrain

Weekly sessions paired with five to ten minutes of daily practice at home. Exercises change as each phase is mastered.

3
Family walking together in a park

Make it stick

New patterns only matter if they hold. The final phase spaces sessions out and confirms the habits are automatic.

Amanda Ing, MHS, CCC-SLP

Amanda Ing, speech-language pathologist

chicagomyo is the practice of Amanda Ing, a speech-language pathologist whose years of pediatric work kept leading to the same conclusion: when speech, feeding, or sleep problems keep coming back, the cause often sits in how the mouth rests and moves. She trained in orofacial myofunctional therapy to treat that cause directly, and it is now the center of her clinical work. Sessions are warm and unhurried, with clinical rigor underneath.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), licensed in Illinois
  • Advanced training in orofacial myofunctional therapy and pediatric feeding
  • MHS in Communication Disorders, Governors State University
  • BS in Speech-Language Pathology, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
  • Private-pay practice. Superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement.
“Our three-year-old son loved seeing Amanda every single visit. He was always so happy to go to speech.”
